A New Orleans native, Ellie writes and performs her own originals- along with singing her own remakes of covers such as Louis Armstrong’s classic- What a Wonderful World, Peggy Lee’s It’s a Good Day and Just the Way You Look Tonight along with Elvis Presley’s and throws in a few current pop covers such as Amy Winehouse's "Valerie" as a reverent nod. Love songs- old and new are her favorite things to both write and sing about. in general- she chooses “songs that are feel good music”- a shout out to her beloved native town. Classic Folk-Americana would best describe Ellie’s music... old country- classic jazz, blues, gospel and r&b.
Ellie's originals draw from the first twenty eight years of her life- being born and raised in New Orleans and living for ten years in the French Quarter- a place in which she soaked up the 24/7 music streaming throughout the streets and jazz clubs. People that hear her originals tend to comment that they sound like classic standard tunes. She has a gift for crafting both melodies and lyrics that immediately resonate with people and draws them in while soothing their spirits. Her tag line... "music that soothes the soul"... is a perfect representation of her compositions.
Music spreads happiness and joy in a person's life. Music is the soul of life.
